Gun Control and the Second Amendment

Gun Control Introduction Of all the modern states, the USA has the longest democratic tradition. For many American citizens, the Bill of Rights is the most significant part of the U.S. Constitution. These ten amendments were adopted to protect citizens from tyranny. Like the First Amendment that guarantees freedom of speech and religion, the Second Amendment, which proclaims the right of bearing arms, is at the center of heated debates. The United States ranks first in the world in the number of firearms in the peoples hands and first in the number of armed violence.
